TRAINING: Positive Goal writing 

TARGET AUDIENCE: Support Coordinators, Administrative Staff, Agency Board Members, Residential and Community Habilitation Providers, Mental Health Providers and Administrators, Supported Employment Staff and Administrators, Participants, and more .

STRUCTURE AND CONTENT: This training would familiarized learners with positive terminology and would train the learner on how to write an applicable and measurable person centered goal. It would also discourage redundant and repetitive goal writing. The learner will be able to:

  • recognize outdated and dehumanizing terminology.

  • substitute positive and humanizing terminology.

  • create a person centered goal, highlighting personal strengths and interests.

  • create an applicable, measurable and sensible goal.

INSTRUCTIONAL FORMAT: Trainer Facilitated

INSTRUCTIONAL MODES: Dialogue/discussion with interactive exercises (overhead graphics, follow-along materials, interactive handouts)

Includes competency test and evaluation of training/workshop 

LENGTH: Three (3) hour workshop
